Just a quick reminder…
The deadline for the Hagerstown tournament is Monday, November 12, at noon. Anyone registering at this point will be paying their full $575 before the first game. You can send a $250 deposit to The Flag Football Challenge Series, 11800 Clearview Rd, Hagerstown MD 21742.
The Host Hotels are set as well. These hotels are waiving the 2-night minimum, and you can’t beat the hotel rates in comparison to gas prices. For each of these, in order to get the prices (it’s about a $20 discount compared to the JFK rates) you have to say you’re with the Flag Football tournament.
- There are two hotels in the same complex as Barefoot Bernies and Cancun Cantina. Both are participating, and they share a beautiful indoor pool. The Clarion (301-733-5100) is the newer side, and their base rooms are $70. The Hotel Express (301-714-0800) is the tower part of the hotel, and they are charging $60 per night. (FYI- The Clarion has 35 rooms left for Saturday, and the Hotel Express has 15. There usually are rooms that cancel for Saturday, but I’d recommend booking now!) This means you can eat, drink, and never have to drive or taxi, and I believe the cover charge for Cancun is waived if you’re staying in the hotel.
- The Best Western Grand Venice (301-733-0830) is literally 3 blocks from the park. The rooms are great, they have a small dance club and liquor store built into the building, and you can’t beat the price. Rooms are $66.90 per night.
- Barefoot Bernies will be the host bar for the tournament. I will be there Friday night for rules questions, and the Sunday schedule will be available only there until 8pm on Saturday. It’s good food and the beer is cold and cheap.
Lastly, here is the team list. There are still teams floating, so if you’re need to be added/removed from this list, please let me know. I also need to know if you plan to be A or B. We need at least 5-6 B teams to split the tourney, and I have 4 already.
